The first Finnish Process-SME workshop between large and SMEs was held in Oulu, Finland on 13th of December 2017. The target audience was enterprises in the mining industry. Subsequent workshops in the fields of forest and steel industries will be held at the beginning and during the year 2018.
At the event specialists from Outokumpu Crome and Terrafame presented the large companies and their experiences related to servitization. SMEs, in turn, introduced themselves and firms’ possibilities to serve large companies, as well as to build up joint SME consortiums in order to increase business operations in mining markets. At the end of event, the representatives of SMEs exploited the great chance to discuss business opportunities with the specialists of large companies.
The event was considered mutually very informative and useful being the first, big step for networking and cooperation between SMEs and large companies.
